Polaska held a public consultation in June 2023 to gather thoughts from the local community on the emerging proposals and proceeded to hold another public consultation in November 2023. In March 2024, Polaska submitted a planning application to Croydon Council, where it will be determined by their Planning Committee.
Welcome to our second public exhibition showcasing our proposals to redevelop the former Sainsbury’s multi-storey car park and leisure centre site in Purley.
As you may be aware, Polaska has been developing proposals to redevelop this key brownfield site to deliver a new state-of-the-art public leisure centre, alongside specialist older persons housing and public realm improvements.
Polaska held a public consultation in June 2023 to gather thoughts from the local community on the emerging proposals.
Since then, extensive work has been undertaken by the project team, keeping conversations going with the community via workshops and meetings with local groups, discussions with officers at Croydon Council and a series of Design Review Panels. The proposals presented are the culmination of extensive work with local people and the Council to create a scheme that works for everyone.

Who is Polaska?

- Piling and pile caps inserted across the site
- Construction traffic to access the site from Whytecliffe Road South
- Construction access and erection of the tower crane from the High Street
Phase 3
- Completion of the podium box to make the area under Buildings B, C and D the same level as Whytecliffe Road South
- Construction of the superstructure of Building A

- Fit out of the leisure centre
